I thought I would post again, even if it was just a few sentences. So I could say that I am posting on a weekly basis.

Random Question: How many of you have taken precautions for the aftermath of an earthquake or some other disaster? I know I want to go out and get 10 of those 2 2/2 gallon containers of water. Maybe some cereal and canned food.

Can you imagine what the freeways would be like if there was a mass exodus from the city?

We just had the South Pas fire department over to the house tonight for a disaster perparedness block party. Just give them a call - ask for Captain Paul - they are great! You can do it for all the cool people in your building......

I haven't put together an emergency supply kit yet, but it has been on my mind a lot. I'm having trouble figuring out where and how to get the right water storage containers -- apparently the ones you get from the grocery store aren't good for emergency supplies; they start to leak after about 6 months. I wish there was some business that specialized in earthquake preparedness supplies that I could just go to instead of having to try to figure it all out by myself.

When I was at OSH a week ago, I heard someone being directed to the Earthquake Preparedness Kits. I have no idea what they are or how good/adequate they are, but you might want to check OSH out.
