Primal Scream

If you live anywhere in a mile radius of the intersection of Magnolia and Prospect, you have likely heard a clangor that sounds like the death shrieks of the fell beast. I don't know if it's a macaw with an anguished poet-soul or some angst-ridden bird living in captivity, but it sounds like something I've heard in a nightmare. Please comment if you have also heard this horrifying sound.

That's what I thought at first, too, anon. But I've listened to the squawking of the green parrots and compared it to this shrieking noise, and the latter noise feels like it's about ten times as loud. Plus, every time I hear this shrieking, it is alone. I never hear any other similar sound answering back. (The parrots, as you know, seem much more social birds.) And the shrieking always comes from the same location, which has caused me to wonder whether it is a bird living in captivity in someone's house or apartment.
