Wherefore My Shawarma?

It's probably not news to most of you by now, but Yasmeen's doors have closed as a full-service restaurant. (I believe they're operating as a catering outfit now.) Where to go for a good shawarma now?

I hear you; it's one of those places you could easily take for granted. I've been to Father Nature in Old Town once and was impressed with the lavash wrap that I tried. Have you been there?

This is sad news. The Foul Madammas at breakfast was a rare treat, a great way to start the day. The next best place is Wahib's in Alhambra. A little farther away but amazingly authentic and tasty. With all of the talk of re-development in South Pas it is sad to see that a GREAT place couldn't sustain itself.

I didn't like their food, honestly.

You can still get some Zankou Chicken near PCC, but you're better of checking-out spots in Glendale or North Hollywood if you want that kind of food.

Spitz in Eagle Rock is awesome if you're into doner kebabs.
